Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mulu Solomon Bezuneh briefed IGAD Ambassadors, Political Foundation Fellows and other Ambassadors on the current situation in Ethiopia, the Grand Renaissance Dam of Ethiopia and Ethiopia’s UNIDO candidate.
On the occasion, the Ambassador explained the operation being undertaken by the Government of Ethiopia in Tigray region and noted that the government was forced to take this measure to restore rule of law. The attempt by the TPLF criminal group to attack the National Army and rob artilleries and weapons was an attempt to put the country’s sovereignty in to risk and was crossing of a red line which could not be tolerated. H.E. Ambassador Mulu also briefly touched on the humanitarian effort being made to protect and reach out to the people affected in collaboration with UNHCR and UNOCHA.
H.E. also briefly explained about the facts and negotiation status of the GERD that Ethiopia always believes in equitable and reasonable use of its trans-boundary water resources without causing significant harm to downstream countries. Regarding Ethiopia’s UNIDO candidate, H.E.
