Major Diplomatic activities of the week
On November 8, 2022, H.E. Ambassador Mulu Solomon Bezuneh , Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary and Special Envoy took part in a meeting called by the Polish government for African Ambassadors.
On the occasion, H E.Ambassador Mulu met H.E. Mateusz Morawiecki, Prime Minister of Poland, H.E. Zbigniew Rau; the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Poland and H.E. Pawel Jablonski, Undersecretary of State for Economic and Development Cooperation, Africa and the Middle East.
On November 9, 2022, H.E. Ambassador Mulu Solomon hosted Honorable Kordula Schulz-Asche (BÜNDNIS 90/ DIE GRÜNEN) in her Residence, Chairwoman of the East African Friendship Group at the German Parliament (Bundestag). The groups Vice-Chairs Honorable Jürgen Coße (SPD); Honorable Erwin Rüddel (CDU/CSU); and Honorable Steffen Janich (AfD) were also present. On the occasion, the Chairwoman noted that the Group welcomes the peace agreement concluded in Pretoria. Diverse topics were discussed including the current situation in Ethiopia, infrastructure for investment; green legacy, GERD, and reconstruction, and terrorists, among others were major topics for discussion.
On November 9, 2022, Ambassador Hailay Brhane, deputy head of Mission took part in the African Ambassadors’ Group in Berlin meeting called by H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Mahmoud BRAHIM KHLIL, Dean of African Ambassadors. Ambassador Hailay Brhane also participated in a working dinner between African Ambassadors and Arab Ambassadors in Berlin.
November 10, 2022 H.E. Ambassador Mulu took part in the breakfast meeting for Ambassadors with some current and former parliamentarians organized by former Parliamentary undersecretary of State Mr. Rudulf Decker. At the occasion H.E. Ambassador Mulu has briefed the participants about Ethiopia’s current situation, humanitarian aid, peace agreement and process, rebuilding, re-engagement, GERD, the green legacy of
H.E Dr Abiy Ahmed, 25 Billion seedlings 270million fruits, wheat production, Climate , Human right,etc. the president, and the Parliament member appreciated the AU supervised peace agreement and passed strong wishes for Ethiopia’s lasting peace.
On November 11, 2022, H.E. Ambassador Mulu Solomon hosted a welcoming dinner to Ambassador Christoph Retzlaff, Director of Sub-Saharan Africa and the Sahel at German Foreign Office, and Ms. Aili Rehbein, Deputy head of Division and Ms. Natalie Zange, Desk officer for Ethiopia.
A positive conversation took place to work in cooperation to serve the mutual benefit of both countries.
