H.E. Ambassador Mulu Solomon held a briefing session with Prof. Dr. Anna-Katharina Hornidge, Director of German Development Institute (DIE)
on January 11, 2021. Discussions focused on current situation in Ethiopia, Negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and matters on further cooperation. German Development Institute (DIE) makes recommendations on global public welfare policy based on the principle of sustainable development through interdisciplinary research, impact-oriented advice and internationally oriented training. On this video conference Dr. Christine Hackenesch, EU-Africa relation coordinator, Dr. Andreas Stamm and Dr. Jana Kuhnt have participated. On the occasion H.E. Ambassador Mulu called on the Director to continue supporting Ethiopia in human resource training, promote Ethiopia’s post pandemic economic recovery plan which aims to create jobs for women and youth in the tourism sector. H.E. the Ambassador commended the works done by Prof. Dr. Anna-Katharina Hornidge to advance relations in academic expertise and Dr. Andreas Stamm’s efforts during the establishment of Ethiopia’s ministry of Innovation and technology.Prof. Dr. Anna-Katharina Hornidge and her team on their part expressed their satisfaction on the level of the relation between Ethiopia and Germany. H.E Ambassador Mulu Solomon met the director of the Society for Threatened Peoples organization (Gesellschaft für bedrohte Völker) on January 12, 2021. On the occasion, H.E has briefed Mr. Ulrich Delius on the overall situation of the law enforcement operation in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. She underlined that the Federal Government had been giving due care in avoiding civilian casualties as that it is currently working to address the humanitarian assistance and rebuilding damaged infrastructures.
